Lake County Historical Museum focuses on the stories of cultures that have inhabited the area over the last thousand years. Permanent items on display include 19th century farm tools and household wares, Civil War artifacts and the skull of a 760-pound alligator. Housed on the first floor of the Lake County Historic Courthouse, the museum is located in downtown Tavares.
